Hossack grew up in Steinbach in Manitoba, Canada. In her early years Hossack grew up and attended school in Killarney Manitoba. She was as well involved in musical theater productions. As she started her studies at Brandon University, she was an aspiring pianist. Her major changed to vocal. Later, after graduating she said she just desired to perform but was not interested in drama. Banff School of Fine Arts was her next stop following she completed her studies at Brandon. Hossack has been playing on stages for the Rainbow Stage and the Muskoka Festival, in Winnipeg. Other World (1989-1992), Cobra (1993-1992) The Profit (1996), Hope Island (1999), and Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital 2004. In 2006, she appeared as Falcon Beach on Canadian television. Hossack featured in guest appearances on shows such as Sliders, Mysterious Ways, and Mysterious Ways. In the TV show Reaper she portrayed Mrs. Oliver.
