Lars Mikkelsen

When he was 27, he was enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark where he graduated in 1995. He also appeared on The Killing, a drama series that was aired across the world. He then appeared in Those Who Kill II and Borgen III, two other highly acclaimed Danish dramas. He also had a major role in Sherlock, an BBC drama where was the character Charles Augustus Magnussen, whose blackmailer. He played the Russian president in the American television show House of Cards. In 2018, he received an International Emmy Award for his part as the president of Russia in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. This was broadcast in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in the year 2019. Mikkelsen is proficient in English, Swedish and German. He can also speak different accents. He claims that he and his brother first learned English by listening to Monty Python records and learning the comedy sketches
